Hi, I’m Richard.
I’m a young creative based in Leicester, specialising in the disciplines of graphic design and illustration. This is my online portfolio and blog, where I put my work for all to see. Find examples of previous briefs I’ve undertaken (the design kind, not underwear) in my portfolio, and my (mostly random) musings in my blog.
Hope you like what you see.

Corporate Identities I've Designed
A unique corporate identity is essential to the modern business wanting to differentiate and stand out from their competitors. I handle logo design, corporate colours, typography, iconography, signage, stationery and any other visual brand aspects that a business may rely on.
Milne Spencer Harris
When my father’s dental practice moved to a new building, they decided to take the opportunity to rebrand. I was entrusted with the task of creating a new corporate ID for the practice, which included designing a new logo, business stationery, and signage.

I undertook a brief with Bamford Dental Practice to create a full corporate identity including a logo, colour scheme, business stationery, interior and exterior signage, and informational leaflets.
University Work/Self Directed
I graduated from De Montfort University, Leicester in 2009 with a degree in Graphic Design and Illustration. I completed briefs at university in editorial design, childrens illustration, packaging design, typography and corporate ID to name a few. My major projects in my final year though mainly focused on childrens illustration.
Albert and the Lion
For my final negotiated project at university, I chose to illustrate the monologue “Albert and the Lion” by Marriott Edgar and famously performed by Stanley Holloway. This project proved pivotal in developing my unique illustrative style.
Forces and Motion
This was my major negotiated project at university, it’s a book aimed at children progressing between keystage 2 and 3 in the English national curriculum, and teaches the basic principles of motion.
Photography
Photography is mainly a hobby of mine, but my love for it has proved useful in my work within the graphic design spectrum. I love capturing vibrant colours, movement, dynamism, and experimenting with technique. I often update my blog with my own photography projects.
Illustration
I usually post any self directed illustration in my blog. Here are a few highlights.
Software I Use
I’m experienced in using most software included in the Adobe Creative Suite Package, namely Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver and Flash. If appropriate, or where requested I can also use open source alternatives to these, such as the GIMP, Inkscape and Scribus. I also use Google Sketchup, which proves invaluable for visualising graphics in a 3D space for my clients.
